New Facebook Prototype Apps Filters Friends Comments

recent-comments-application-logoAs your friend list grows, there may be times you would like to filter your Facebook news feed or wall posts to only show comments made by your friends and hide their friends' comments, because let's admit it...some of your friends are annoying! And I mean annoying in the nicest possible connotation.   Now with the new Recent Comments Filter application, you can do exactly that. The Recent Comments Filter is a Facebook Prototype application that you can install inside your account.  Prototypes are applications being developed by the Facebook development team and have not been officially released to the general public. They are not ready-for-prime-time but they are ready for you to test drive and explore what new features Facebook is thinking of launching.  As posted on the Facebook’s blog:
“Keep in mind that Prototypes are exactly that — unfinished versions of products we're testing that may have some kinks to work out. Some Prototypes may eventually launch to everyone on Facebook and become part of the Facebook experience, while others may eventually be removed from the Prototypes directory all together. We won't test every new product in Prototypes before launch, but we're excited about testing new ideas regularly and often.”
If you decide to install the Comments App here’s what you will see: facebook-comment-app-prototype Clicking on the “Comments” button on your left navigation will filter your News Feed and highlight only comments made by your friends.  I really liked the quick filtering and I could easily see where I wanted to drill down for more details about comments my friends made.  To toggle back to the normal view simply press “News Feed.”

How to Install a Facebook Prototype Application

Installing a Facebook Prototype is straightforward:
