Date: Third Monday of April First Celebrated: 1894 Honoring: The start of the American Revolution (The battles of Lexington & Concord) States Celebrating: Massachusetts, Maine, and Wisconsin. Fun Facts: Both Lexington and Concord hold reenactments of the battles in the morning. Lexington holds their reenactment around 6 am and Concord’s is about 9 am. The Boston Marathon is always run on Patriots’ Day. Floridians are encouraged to celebrate the holiday, but it’s not an official holiday. Wisconsin honors the day in the form of a public school observance.
